Dulse grows on low tide rocks on the northern coasts of the Atlantic
and Pacific oceans. The current is strong and the sea bed is clean. It is a well-known snack food, and has been an important
source of fibre in Iceland, for centuries. It is a type of red seaweed.
It is a good source of iodine which, if deficient in, may affect the
hormonal action of the thyroid gland and can affect metabolism, body temperature
and energy levels. It is essential for the thyroid's health.
